Notes:
This submission is listed as tracks, as are several other versions, though the LP is not banded on either side. This reissue is from 1975 or possibly 1976. It is on the yellow label with "Capitol" in red at the bottom and includes the Capitol logo in the rim print. Although this style label (in various colors) was in use since 1972, the "All Rights Reserved" information did not begin on US releases until 1975. This submission label has it added at the top below the rim print. By 1976 this information was incorporated into the rim print and the Capitol logo was removed. (see: [r4026196) By 1977 the first "retro" purple labels were beginning to be used and the logo was reinstated into the rim print. Of course there are some exceptions (custom labels and club releases) to this timeline of changes, but holds for most US releases on stock labels. From the back cover: "In the complete MANHATTAN TOWER, Gordon Jenkins presents a new version that fully realizes the potential of the old. The album contain all the original music and narration, plus many new wonderful features. Jenkins has created appealing new songs and instrumental interludes, has dramatized the story, and has incorporated new scenes and characters. The result is a much broader panorama of New York and a much richer story, one that tells of the romance between Steven, the narrator, and Julia. The new MANHATTAN TOWER is three times as long as the earlier version, and has been captured in this recording.
